Not Dead - The Catch Up

Ok, so it's been like 800 years since we've gotten to our blog, but rest assured, we're still alive. We were married Dec 20, 2008 and it was absolutely perfect. I moved into Justin's apartment and we've made our little place a little home. We absolutely love it. Life has been pretty crazy with us both going to school, working full time, church callings, and trying to spend some quality time together. There's seriously just not enough time in the day to pack it all in!!

The most exciting thing that's happened (other than our wedding) is our 3rd month anniversary that we just celebrated last Friday. It's kind of crazy how time flies by. I feel like I've always been married to Justin and can't imagine being single again. (I remember it, just can't believe I did it!!)

It's already bed time and I better get some beauty sleep, but promise to write and update all my peeps more often... like every day. New goal! Tomorrow I'll post some wedding pics for all to enjoy - not that I expect anyone else to be checking our blog every day since we never update it. =) If there are any hold outs out there waiting for a post, I hope I made your day.

Sore Dogs

Today Sally, Jami and Janae came down to help KT and myself do some wedding shopping. It was totally fun.... and tiring. My feet are so sore, which is surprising since I wore my tennies. I can see how everything is coming together, though. It's AWESOME! I'm so excited and feel it such a privilege to be Mrs. Justin Bigelow. He's an amazing man that teaches me something new every day.

Update

Well, I was thinking to myself tonight while I was mopping my floor that I've been the biggest slacker with this bloggy thing. I know so many of you our there are hanging onto my every word and waiting for me to spew forth more verbal gold. I can't say I blame you... I have that affect on people.

So, here's the update on what's going on... We finally registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Walmart. We still have Target to do, but I think both of us are dragging our feet. I don't know how many of you out there have registered for a wedding, but trust me when I tell you it is seriously the most stressful part of the planning process!! You have to know in a matter of 2 hours how you want to decorate your house, what colors you want, how to compromise with this man you're about to marry, and be truthful (yet sensitive) when he wants to register for a Star Trek collector tin can set. No wonder the divorce rate is so high... it all started with the wedding registry!! *** Just for the record, Justin NEVER wanted that Star Trek collector tin can set.*** He's perfect to shop with. We have the same taste and that definitely makes it easier!!

Also, we got all the rings necessary for this shin-dig to be legit. Yeah, it's fun to show people just so I can put on all the rings that have my name on them. It's the cutest thing ever when I see Justin get all excited about wearing his ring. It makes my little heart go "pitter-patter". He's just so dreamy. hehe... I think I've turned into one of those girls. You know the type... they make you want to slap them because they're so goo-goo eyed over some guy that they've put up on a pedestal. Don't worry, I didn't put Justin on a pedestal... he's just tall.

We also met with my sister Amy about the cake. She's making it and I'm so glad. She does great work and the cake will be special because she's my sister. Actually it could come out looking like a volcano...(hmm.... that's kind of a cool idea....) and I would be so happy because I would know it was made with love.... See what I mean?? "One of those girls!" Anyway, the cake will be a lemon cake with lemon filling. Can you tell Justin and I love lemon? It will be nice with the chocolate alternative. We decided not to go with the fondant. We are going for a butter cream frosting instead. I think it will taste better. Yum.... it's making me hungry.

OH! I almost forgot the best news yet! My wedding dress was delivered today and I'm dying to see it. It was delivered to my sister's house and my parents are bringing it down here tomorrow. I am so freaking giddy, it's even creeping myself out. I have been having nightmares that I get the dress and it looks like a sheep's skin. I don't know what the significance of this is, but it's kind of gross. Maybe I've seen Beowulf one too many times. Who knows?

Other than the wedding, not much is going on here. This weekend my parents are coming down because they're flying out to my sister Kathy's house for Thanksgiving. I'm happy they're going. Kathy will be happy. And Katie and Maggie are coming for the whole weekend. I'm so happy to see them... I miss their guts! Sally, Jami, and Janae are coming, too, on Saturday to help KT and I get prepared for the wedding... I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GETTING MARRIED IN 30 DAYS!!!! WHAT THE...??? It seems so weird because it doesn't seem weird. I know that doesn't make sense, but that's what it is. ANYWAY, I digress... needless to say, there will be a full house this weekend. Yay! I have no idea what to do next with this wedding! No worries, help is on the way. =)

Election Blues

How sad am I that it's looking like "the other candidate" is going to win the presidential election. I need to get a gun before the 2nd amendment is done away with. I'm not kidding AT ALL when I say that Obama guy seriously scares me. If I wanted to be a socialist, I think I would move to a socialist country. I just don't get it. I really don't.

We're Back

So, I bet everyone thought I had fallen into a ditch somewhere and died. It's been a while since I've been able to visit my blog. Actually, I was getting pretty addicted, so I had to ground myself for a while. Does anyone else ground themselves? I do it all the time... it's like I'm still living at my parent's house. Haahahaaa.... so funny!

Oh, by the way... I still have a stiff neck. I make Justin massage it at night. He's so handy to have around. I love him!!!

Stiff Necked

So... do you ever have those mornings when you wake up and your head is cocked to the side and it's virtually impossible to straighten it out?? Yeah... I'm having one of those days. It's seriously the pits - how easily I forget that I actually use my neck! It's not just that piece of body that holds my beautiful head up... Hahaaaa!! It makes me giggle when I think of what I must look like with my lopsided head and my eyes straining to the side. It's like I have an invisible neck brace on. It makes me laugh!!!

Cake And Eat It Too

Ok, so I can't find the picture of the cake that I want... but this one is pretty close. Instead of the small gum paste daisies, we want rose petals sprinkled on the top and around the base of each layer. We'd like to have a cake just like this, but I can't find the flowers that look like this... the daisies I found look like cartoons... crazy, but that's what I found. We do want the ribbon for each layer, but in a dark brown color. The petals we'd like to be pink to match all the other flowers. I think we'd also like to have the small dots on the fondant. Anyway... that's our idea of the cake. We didn't want to have a cake topper, and we didn't want it to be too flowery, so the sprinkled rose petals seemed like a good alternative.

Wedding Stuff

So, if this is the first post you're reading... Justin and I are engaged and will be married in a short 60 days!! Yippee!!! I wanted to post a few things about the wedding and reception. Keep in mind these are just my thoughts right now because we haven't started doing anything yet... I KNOW!!! We're slackers!!

We have the temple reserved (Dec 20) and the buildings for the reception and open house (Dec 26 and 27). We just got our engagement pics, which I think turned out WONDERFUL! (**Thanks, Sal and Dave - YOU ROCK!**) Other than my dress, which I've picked out (but not ordered) we finally decided on a cake... I'll see if I can post a pic for your review.

OH WAIT!!! I almost forgot, we did the important things first. We booked the temple and then we booked the condos where we'll be honeymooning. Haahaa!! That seriously is about how it went. At least we have our priorities straight. It actually worked out so nicely. My parents were able to book a condo for us in Pinetop Dec 19 - Dec 29. We'll have that whole week to just hang out and have Christmas close to both our families. Yay! It's nice, too, because we can have our own space and be able to have our own little Christmas. Snaps for new traditions!

First Post Appraisal

I just saw my blog for the first time with a post... AND I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!! I think I can be addicted to blogging.... is that bad? What a cool way to let my peeps know what's going on with me... SO FUN!

Getting Started

So, I just created a blog for my new family... well, soon to be family. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyway! Justin and I are engaged and will be married December 20, 2008. Hip-Hip-Hooray!!! It's weird that we're getting married, but so completely natural at the same time. I think the fact that it's so natural is what makes it weird. Definitely no doubts here!!
